NORTH TONAWANDA, NY -
He is one of the biggest pop stars in the world and today, Justin Bieber played a show in WNY. It started out as a contest and ended with a concert.
The school spirit contest was put on by Kiss 98.5. They raised a whopping 1.5 million pennies or $152,000 for Women and Children's Hospital.
The big winners were the students at Edward Town Middle School in Niagara Wheatfield. The kids there raised nearly $17,000 and won the concert.
Bieber tells Two on Your Side that he feels like a regular kid. The 16-year old was unknown two years ago when he put a few home videos on Youtube. He says,
"I just put them up and it was fun to do and it got really big, really fast. I'm just glad I get to experience it." His album is number one in the country.
The show was held at The Riviera Theater in North Tonawanda. The location was kept top secret until after the teen heartthrob had left he building. Even the students didn't quite know where they were going when they hopped on the busses this morning.
Bieber played four songs to a crowd of screaming students.
